The Bladeology Podcast was established in late 2018 by 3 friends representing 3 distinct portions of the knife industry.
Jeremiah M Burbank (The Dealer)
Nicholas R Chuprin (The Maker)
Elijah "Just in Time" Isham (The Designer)
Together these three would set out to record show experiences and notes from their travels along with crucial knife history.
Bladeology was at first a continuation of 100 phone conversations the trio was having on a regular basis. Early Episodes are rambunctious and raw with interview episodes being more focused. As all podcasts it took some time to find our footing, these are good records of a time when knife shows were fun and the industry was it its late era glory (just pre-pandemic and during)
Elijah passed away in April 2022 and at that point we had not recorded an episode in a while already, this would be an almost 1.5 year break in total from the podcast.
Returning in late 2023 Jeremiah and Nick's lives had transformed totally and were now in the same location making recording regularly mush easier and more motivating.
Today we continue on recording knife history with a focus (As in the past) on Switchblades and Balisongs. These two sub-families of knives are often overlooked when talking about customs and overall influences on design and mechanisms. Inviting guests regularly to join us in person or remotely to dig through memories and details often lost to time.
